Infographics

on

Creating my infographic was a fun and a little bit of a frustrating process. Like I’ve said before, I don’t know if technologically savvy would be a great way to describe me. Although, I did enjoy making my infographic!

I have learned so much this semester! Both in general and through my Personal Learning Project. This project was a great way to incorporate both our Personal Learning Project and tech activities. I have actually gotten the pleasure of using and creating infographics before. I don’t know if that gave me much of an “upper hand”, though. I created an infographic in my Tech in Instructional Strategy class. In that class, we have to create a unit lesson plan throughout the semester. My unit, for that class, is a weather and climate segment for 3rd grader. The infographic that I made for that class was a compare and contrast between temperature and climate. It was pretty neat to make!

It’s cool how you you can add anything and every thing to these infographics! For this particular project, I used the website magic.piktochart.com/infographics. My infographic was information on conversions in the kitchen! I think that this could be helpful to anyone that is new to cooking, or even people with lots of experience.

This infographic doesn’t have 100% of the conversions that a cook would potentially need, but I believe that it’s a good beginning! I always have a hard time knowing how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon, personally.

I think that including these in a classroom would be a good idea. You can have students create infographics for ANY subject area. You could set criteria for them and they would enjoy creating these. You could have kids do these by themselves, or even in groups potentially. I am glad that I was introduced to infographics! Before these classes, I had no idea what they were. There is so much potential in using these.
